It's that time of year

Well, its August 1st which means many things.  One is that the Iowa State Fair starts in one week, which is quite possibly the highest anticipated event of the year (at least in our family).  This year we will be experiencing the fair in a whole new way.  The biggest difference to previous years is that we are expecting our first child this November.  So I'm sure my pregnant wife will be in heaven with the smorgasbord of food vendors available to satisfy her cravings.  We'll also be taking the longest string of Herefords we've ever shown.  We're doing this for two reasons.  First, is that we have the best set of cattle that we've ever raised.  No joke or gimmick, this is a set that is impressive from top to bottom.  And the second reason is that we'll be having our inaugural sale this fall hosted by Breeder's World, and the State Fair is a great place to showcase what we'll have to offer.

The first of August also brings out all the advertisements for upcoming sales.  Picturing sale cattle is not an easy task and I don't envy the people that do it for a living, other than all the places and cattle they see along the way.  We fought the battle about 6 weeks ago and are quite proud of how our ad turned out.  You can find it on page 247 in the August issue of the Show Circuit.  We will be taking pictures again this weekend for the September/October issues and we'll be posting them on here under the For Sale tab.  Feel free to give us a call with any questions.
